My dad bought a samsung hdtv from a second-hand source and it recently malfunctioned?

It may have been stolen. I called samsung and gave them my model code, serial number, everything. and since my dad believes it was stolen, he believes they will track the serial number and we would be in trouble. Should there be any worries of them tracking the serial number?|||The manufacturer does not concern themselves with this issue. They already receive the money for the tv and if it has not been registered they are not going to honor the warranty. The bigger loser is the consumer who purchased the tv, who think they are saving money by doing this. Hope this will help you out.
